1. The Bling Lagosians
‘The Bling Lagosians’, a 2019 movie written by Kehinde Joseph and directed by Bolanle Austen-Peters tells the story of the Holloways, a powerful Lagos family.
The matriarch, played by Elvina Ibru, prepares for a flamboyant 51st birthday party while her husband fights to prevent the family’s company and legacy from being ruined despite his frivolities. The movie is currently showing on Netflix.

2. The Wedding Party
The Wedding Party is a 2016 Nigerian romantic comedy-drama film directed by Kemi Adetiba. The story follows an insecure virgin bride and a reformed playboy as the groom with two overbearing mothers who can’t stand each other.
On 31 December 2016, just two weeks after its release, ‘The Wedding Party’ became The Highest Grossing Film in Nigerian Box Office History – a record which was broken in 2017 by its sequel The Wedding Party 2.

3. Taxi Driver: Oko Ashewo
After his father dies, a naive young village mechanic heads into the bubbling Lagos city to drive the old man’s taxi. He runs across prostitutes, assassins, and a motley crew of other urban weirdos.
The Daniel Oriahi’s directorial is a 2015 movie that starred Odunlade Adekola; Femi Jacobs; Ijeoma Grace Agu; Hafeez Oyetoro. ‘Taxi Driver’ is currently showing on Netflix.

4. Fifty
The Biyi Bandele’s direction is a 2015 movie starring Nse Ikpe-Etim, Ireti Doyle, Omoni Oboli and Dakore Akande. It’s an Ebony Life film Produced by Tope Oshin that follows the pivotal days in the lives of four Nigerian women at the pinnacle of their careers in the beautiful city of Lagos.

5. Banana Island Ghost

Banana Island Ghost (BIG) is a 1 hour, 32 minutes fantasy/comedy/Action movie written and directed by BB Sasore is a story of a man who dies in a car accident and bargains with God to receive three more days back on Earth to find his soul mate.
BIG starred Chioma ‘Chigul’ Omeruah, Patrick Daibuah, Saheed Balogun, Akah Nnani, Tomiwa Edun, Ali Nuhu, Bimbo Manuel amongst others and is currently streaming on Prime Video.
