For this weekend’s TFC Lists, here are five intense Nollywood dramas I think you should watch this weekend.
1. Confusion Na Wa
‘Confusion Na Wa’ is a 2013 Nigerian dark comedy-drama film directed by Kenneth Gyang, starring Ramsey Nouah, OC Ukeje, Ali Nuhu and Tunde Aladese. The title of the film was inspired by the lyrics of the late Afrobeat singer Fela Kuti’s song “Confusion”.
‘Confusion Na Wa’ won the Best Picture at the 9th Africa Movie Academy Awards, it also won the award for the Best Nigerian film. The film tells the story of how so many interconnected separate events come together to complicate the lives of people. Currently, the movie can be seen on Netflix.

2. Elevator Baby
‘Elevator Baby’ is a 2019 Nigerian drama thriller film directed by Akay Mason and produced by Niyi Akinmolayan. It was produced by Niyi Akinmolayan’s production company Anthill Studios and stars Toyin Abraham, Timini Egbuson, Sambasa Nzeribe, Samuel Olatunji, Emem Ufot and Shafy Bello.
Elevator Baby was listed among the highest-grossing Nigerian films of 2019 and is currently streaming on Netflix.

3. The Perfect Arrangement
Tade, a free-spirited scion of a respected political family, is living her best life without a care in the world. However, things get complicated when she develops feelings for Chidi, a fast-rising politician who also happens to be her EX and Cheta, her best friend. As if that wasn’t bad enough, Chidi and Cheta are brothers.
Naz Onuzo’s direction is a 2022 movie for Inkblots production and can be streamed on Prime Video.

4. Kasala
Currently showing on Netflix, Kasala is a 2018 Nigerian comedy-drama film directed by Ema Edosio. The film stars Gabriel Afolayan, Judith Audu, Emeka Nwagbaraocha, Jide Kosoko and Sambasa Nzeribe.
The film was released on October 12, 2018, but was only accepted to the cinema by December 2018.
5. Tanwa Savage

Tanwa Savage is a 2021 Nigerian comedy-drama film produced, written and directed by Geshin Salvador. The film stars Segun Arinze, Timini Egbuson, Bimbo Ademoye and Linda Osifo in the lead roles.
The film is based on a true-life marriage story where the woman requests a DNA test from her husband. It had its theatrical release on 22 January 2021.
