With 2022 coming to an end and in the spirit of Yuletide, Nigerian film-makers took it as a point of duty for Nigerians to enjoy the Christmas festivities with new movies.

For this weekend’s TFC Lists, here are five new Nollywood movies you should this Weekend.
Co-written and directed by Gabriel Afolayan, and produced by Studio 6 Multimedia Ltd. The movie follows the story of A driver and his lone passenger who embarks on a long journey while hiding their true intentions from one another.
It stars Ebun Oloyede, Gabriel Afolayan, Jide Kosoko, Tina Mba, Muyiwa Adegoke, amongst others and is currently streaming on Netflix.
The movie tells the story of a high-life musician in the middle of a resurgence, whose life and family are turned upside down when a scandal is revealed on the eve of his 60th birthday.
Palava is a Niyi Akinmolayan’s direction produced by Inkblot production.
The movie features a line up of A list actors and is currently showing in cinemas nationwide.
3. The Stand Up
The Stand Up film is about a simple electrician from Warri, who decides to go to Lagos in order to make it big and save his sister while encountering some challenges in his endeavours.
The movie is produced by Peekaboo Productions and directed by Jide Oyegbile. It stars Richard Ayodeji Makun (AY), Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD), Anita Asuoha (RealWarriPikin) and others and is currently showing in cinemas.
4. Rising: City of dreams
The movie directed by Samuel ‘BigSam’ Olatunji, features a host of stellar actors such as Yvonne Jegede, Jide Kosoko, Zubby Michael, Remilekun ‘Reminisce’ Safaru, Femi Branch, Imohiosen Patrick (DJ Neptune) among other talented actors.
The movie follows the story of Ezedike, head of the eastern part of the Oju Alafia area boys getting ready to succeed Goke Snapper, his mentor and head of the whole Oju Alafia market. The announcement is imminent and he dreams big of his new position. But first, he must deal with Tolu Tilapia, his arch-rival, the leader of the western part of Oju Alafia.
Rising: City of Dreams is now showing in Cinemas Nationwide.
5. Crime & Justice Lagos
Crime and Justice Lagos follows the activities of the fictional Serious and Special Crimes Unit working in the Nigerian capital, which is the biggest and most densely populated city in Africa.
It stars Jammal Ibrahim and Folu Storms in lead roles and is now showing in episodes on Showmax.
