For this weekend’s TFC Lists, here are five dark psychological Nollywood thrillers on supernatural powers you should not miss.
1. March 17th
March 17th is Desmond Elliot’s directorial starring Mary Lazarus, Uche Elendu, and Mike Ezuruonye.
Two cousins go for an evening funtime that leads to both of them encountering an abuser who nearly rapes them. In an attempt to get away, they make a grievous mistake. How do they deny a murder that they are clearly responsible for.

2. October 1
The story is about the year 1960 when a Nigerian police detective is dispatched to investigate the murders of women in a small community. The movie, October 1 is a Tunde Afolayan’s direction and produced by Golden Effects Studios.

It was released on the 1st of October in 2014 and is currently showing on Netflix.
3. Ije: The Journey
Directed by Chineze Anyaene, IJE follows the story of Chioma who left Nigeria for the USA to help her sister that was accused of killing three people including her husband. She is determined to keep her from jail but requires the truth.
The 2010 movie stars Genevieve Nnaji; Odalys García; Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde; Jeff Swarthout; Clem Ohameze; Ulrich Que. IJE is currently streaming on Netflix.

4. What Lies Within
What Lies Within is a 2017 Nigerian drama thriller film directed by Vanessa Nzediegwu and starring an ensemble cast of Michelle Dede, Paul Utomi, Ebele Okaro, Kiki Omeili, Okey Uzoeshi, Vanessa Nzediegwu, Ken Erics, Odenike and Tope Tedela. The film was written by Paul Utomi.
What Lies Within chronicles 24 hours in the lives of two women as they are thrust into the centre of an incident that could have far-reaching consequences on their lives and their loved ones.
The movie is 97 minutes long and is currently streaming on Prime Video.

5. Murder at Prime Suites
Murder at Prime Suites (MAPS) is a 2013 Nigerian crime thriller film directed by Chris Eneng and starring Joseph Benjamin, Keira Hewatch and Chelsea Eze. The movie was inspired by a much-publicized similar murder that occurred in Lagos. The film stars Joseph Benjamin and Keira Hewatch.
Private detectives are on a mission to unravel the mystery behind the sudden death of a university student who secretly embarks on a journey to an unknown place unbeknownst to all that know her. MAPS is currently streaming on Iroko TV.
