The Nigerian film industry, known as Nollywood, made the year 2022 an interesting one for movie lovers and more importantly proved to be one of the best film industries and maintained the record for being the second-highest producer of movies on the globe.

1. Ijakumo: The Born Again Stripper
Ijakumo is a 2022 movie produced by Toyin Abraham and Wingonia Ikpi, directed by Adebayo Tijani and written by Anthony Joseph.
Ijakumo tells the story of Asabi (Toyin Abraham), the daughter of a powerful spiritualist who is hell-bent on destroying the life of her ex-lover, a now renowned Lagos big pastor, Jide (Kunle Remi) who cheated her and left her to die. The movie is showing in Cinemas Nationwide.

2. 4:4:44
4:4:44 is directed by Izu Ojukwu, and produced by Winifred Unusual, with Mena Ajakpovi as executive producer.

It’s an epic love story of a young couple’s struggles in dealing with mental health issues and societal reactions to this situation.
Inspired by true events, the movie stars multi-award-winning actors, Richard Mofe-Damijo and Nse Ikpe-Etim in its lead roles and is currently showing on Prime Video.
3. Introducing The Kujus
Introducing the Kujus is a 2020 Nigerian comedy-drama film directed by Biodun Stephen and produced by Winifred Okpapi. The film stars Bisola Aiyeola, who co-produced the film.

The Kuju siblings are tricked by their youngest sister into visiting their village for a re-membrance of their late mother five years after her death. The loss of their matriarch left a gaping hole in the family due to her role as a unifying factor.
The movie is currently streaming on Prime Video.
4. Crazy Grannies
This comedy/drama movie follows the hilarious adventures of three grandmas who decide to take a much-needed all-girls trip to a resort where they have the adventures of their lives.

Directed by Tope Alake and Kayode Peters, Crazy Grannies stars Chinonso Arubayi, Mercy Aigbe, Shaffy Bello, Ngozi Nwosu amongst others. The movie is currently showing on Prime Video.
5. Country Hard
Directed by Paul Utomi, Country Hard is a hyperlink crime-drama that explores a day in the lives of seven strangers as their paths interconnect in a way that may alter their lives forever.
The movie stars Omowunmi Dada, Kehinde Bankole, Tina Mba, Timini Egbuson and is currently streaming on Prime Video.
