It is not a new trend that Nollywood filmmakers allow their movies to enjoy a theatrical run before giving licenses to streaming platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime, and others.
For this month, a number of licensed titles have been confirmed after making good numbers at the box office.

Here are Nollywood movies coming to Netflix this July.
1. Prophetess — July 8
Anthill Productions and FilmOne released ‘Prophetess’ in April 2021 and garnered N131.2 million at the box office. The movie was directed by Niyi Akinmolayan.
The synopsis reads: Ajoke, a local Prophetess makes a bogus prediction about a football match which sets off a chain of events in the community beyond her control. With her life in danger, she enlists the help of her twin sister to save her.

My Village people was written by Bovi Ugboma and directed by Niyi Akinmolayan.
The synopsis reads, “After returning to his local village for his sister’s wedding, a player named Prince finds himself being hunted by forces that he struggles to escape due to his selfish and womanizing ways.”

The Ghost and the Tout Too follows the story of a woman who can reluctantly communicate with ghosts and tries to help the spirit of a woman whose body is in a coma, leaving her trapped between life and death.
