For this weekend’s TFC Lists, here are five movies on politics to keep you stuck to your screen and keep you set in the atmosphere of the country.
1. Your Excellency
The 2019 movie is a Funke Akindele’s direction about Chief Olalekan Ajadi, a bumbling, billionaire businessman and failed presidential candidate, who is obsessed with Donald Trump. Just when his campaign looks set to be another disaster, Ajadi is anointed by a major party and becomes a credible contender, all through the power of social media.

2. The Governor
From the stables of EbonyLife, The Governor is the arresting story of Angela Ochello, the Deputy Governor of Savannah State, who with no governorship desires winds up unexpectedly caught in a trap of political interest after the troublesome demise of the occupant Governor.

4. October 1
The story is about the year 1960 when a Nigerian police detective is dispatched to investigate the murders of women in a small community. The movie, October 1 is a Tunde Afolayan’s direction and produced by Golden Effects Studios.
It was released on the 1st of October in 2014 and is currently showing on Netflix.
5. 4th Republic
Directed by Ishaka Bako, 4th Republic follows the story of Ikechukwu Obiano, a young idealistic deputy campaign manager for industrialist Mabel King, who is competing against incumbent Governor Idris Sani in her bid to become the first elected female governor in the country.
Distributed by Netflix, the movie was released on the 12th of April, 2019.
