For this weekend’s TFC Lists, here are five Nollywood movies about life in different phases
1. This Lady Called Life
Written by Toluwani Obayan, This Lady Called life is a 2020 drama produced by Kayode Kasum and Abisola Yussuf.
The movie tells the story of a young single mother Aiye, abandoned by her family and faced with the struggles to survive but she remains focused on her dream of becoming an elite chef.
This Lady Called Life is a Kayode Kasum’s directorial and it is currently streaming on Netflix.
2. Omo Ghetto: The Saga
Now showing on Netflix, Omo Ghetto: The Saga is a 2020 Funke Akindele and JJC film produced by SceneOne Productions with John Dems having Cinematography credit.
Twins are reunited as a good-hearted female gangster and her uptight rich sister take on family, crime, cops, and all of the trouble that follows them. The movie made ₦636.1 million at the box office.
3. Mokalik
Eleven-year-old Ponmile’s life changes when he is sent to work as an apprentice at a mechanic workshop far from his home in the suburbs, and he must make a tough decision about his future.
Released in May, 2019, the Kunle Afolayan’s direction is a 1 hour, 40 minutes Comedy drama cure showing on Netflix.
4. Breaded Life
Breaded Life is a 2 hours Comedy drama written and directed by Biodun Stephen.
Starring MC Lively, Bisola Aiyeola, Timini Egbuson, Bimbo Ademoye, Bolanle Ninalowo, Adedimeji Lateef, Tina Mba.
The story follows a young man who was mysteriously forgotten by everyone in his life. He is forced to seek help from the local bread seller after he realises that she’s the only one who can remember him. Breaded Life is now showing on Netflix.
5. Coming from Insanity
A boy genius trafficked from Nigeria grows up to become a master counterfeiter and is now in the sights of an ambitious currency agent determined to bring him to justice.
The drama movie is Akinyemi Sebastian Akinropo’s directorial, starring Gabriel Afolayan as the lead character and is currently streaming on Netflix.
